Can I be treated by my own doctor for a workers’ compensation claim?
That’s one of the biggest problems in the Florida workers’ compensation system is that injured workers do not have the choice of their own doctor. All physicians must be authorized by the employer or the carrier. Now, injured workers do have the right to a one time change in physician, but I caution on the use of the one time change in physician without consulting an attorney because there’s ramifications in doing so.
