What are subrogation rights?

After a car accident, sometimes your own health insurance will pay medical expenses on your behalf. Depending on your health insurance policy, your health insurance company may have a right to subrogation or reimbursement if you recover from the at-fault party. Medicare and Medicaid benefits are also subject to subrogation or reimbursement if you recover from the at-fault party.
